Scouting

Some of our earliest ties to the community involve youth groups and perhaps none are stronger or more lasting than the relationship between the VFW and America's scouting organizations. In fact, our partnership with the Boy Scouts of America dates back to 1915 when VFW Post 2100 helped to establish Troop 1 in Everett, Washington. Our Scout of the Year program provides members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to be recognized for their standout citizenship, patriotism and love of country.

Voice of Democracy & Patriots Pen 2024-2025

It is never to early for students to start work on their entries for the Voice of Democracy Contest and the Patriots Pen Contest. The themes for this year are, VOD - "Is America Today Our Forefathers' Vision?" and PP - "My Voice in America's Democracy?"

Our Military Kids expands grant program

Our Military Kids expands grant program to include PACT Act presumptive conditions. Our Military Kids (OMK) is a national nonprofit group that provides extracurricular activity scholarships to children and teens (ages 3-18) of deployed National Guard and Reserve and post-9/11 combat-injured Veterans in treatment.

Welcome to the home of Sikeston VFW Post 3174.  We are a group of Veterans helping Veterans and supporting our Community.  Please explore the website for valuable information that you may need.  WE are here to help.

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.


There is a new cartoon everyday.

Coming events at the Post.  We will be having our monthly Veterans meal and Post meeting on the 3rd Saturday of the month.  Dinner is served at 5:00 P.M. for all veterans with a Post meeting to follow at 6:00pm for members only.  Please remember to bring a dish to share.
